Durilaq No Light Cure Gel Review - O Sole Mia

There are many brands of gel polish on the market today, so many brands, that it can get confusing which to chose.  As a licensed manicurist I try to be open to any and all the brands being sold from the high end to the drug store brands.  The newest products, from some well known brands, require no LED light curing.  These are extremely convenient especially for the do-it-yourselfer who doesn't want to go to the salon every week or two to have their polish changed. I recently received a bottle of Durilaq (from the makers of Duri Polish) a non-LED light curing gel polish in O Sole Mia (a beautiful red) to test.  I was sent one polish and one top coat. No base coat is required just two coats of Durilaq color and one coat of Durilaq Top Coat and you're ready to go. The instructions recommends that you wait two minutes in between polish coats to allow it to dry.

I wanted to really give the polish a work out and see exactly how long it would last under every day use.  I use my hands all day long to type, clean, and prepare meals for my family so I knew it would be an excellent test for the brand.

The color I received (O Sole Mia) is one of eight colors in the collection.  As you can see below the colors are beautiful and there has to be one or more that appeals to you.   Just like all the other Duri products Durilaq is "5 free" which means it is free of :
  • CAMPHOR: In rare cases, camphor can cause liver damage when applied to skin. And nail biters be warned— it’s been linked to seizures when ingested.
  • DIBUTYL PHTHALATE: An endocrine disruptor, dibutyl phthalate is toxic to the reproductive system, and can effect a baby boy’s genitalia development. Plus, it’s been linked to obesity.
  • FORMALDEHYDE: A known carcinogen that can also cause organ and immune system toxicity, formaldehyde is an ingredient to avoid at all costs.
  • FORMALDEHYDE RESIN: This formaldehyde derivative may not be as toxic, but it’s a known allergen, and can cause skin irritations, as well as eye and lung irritation (and we know we all inhale some nail-polish fumes when we’re swiping on color).
  • TOLUENE: Toluene not only impairs breathing and can cause nausea, but it’s also toxic to the nervous system, can cause developmental damage to a fetus and is linked to malignant lymphoma.
These cancer causing agents can be very harmful to your body and no matter which brand you choose as a Licensed Manicurist I always recommend my clients choose a polish brand like Duri that is free of these chemicals.

Duri Voyage Diva Collection

duridiva

I had the pleasure of receiving the Duri Voyage Diva Summer Collection of nail polishes for review.  As many of you know I am a licensed manicurist although I am not currently working.  That being said I love to stay current with trade publications and nail trends so that if I decide to return to work some day I will be up to date on all that is current in the nail industry. Duri is one of my favorite nail polish lines for many reasons.  The most important features for me in choosing a line of polish (to use personally and to recommend) is if it stays on and wears well over an extended period of time and that the company stays innovative with products and collections - Duri covers all that and more for me. The Voyage Diva Summer Polish Collection is a wonderful rainbow of amazing colors that will not disappoint - I love them all! There are twelve colors in the collection - Rio Rager (a beautiful creamy orange), Fairytale Prague (a misty light lilac), Azure Isle (a medium pastel blue), Mallorca Mauve (a light pinkish mauve), Tahitian Sand (a creamy off white), When In Rome (a light pastel blue), Aussie Gold Coast (a pale creamy yellow), London Calling (a chalk white great for french manicures), Marrakech Magic (a pale mint green), Maui Wawie (a medium pink), Trending in NY (a pale baby pink), and Weekend In Dubai (a pale lemon-lime green). I choose "Trending In NY" to demonstrate.  I just love this color so much I took it with me to the spa and had them use it for my pedicure.

As you can all see my nails are very short lately.  The medications I am taking has greatly affected the health of my nails and for this reason I have had  no choice but to keep them short.  However these pastel colors look amazing on short or longer nails. This collection and others as well as single bottles are available directly from the Duri website.  The polish is a wonderful value at only $6.00 per bottle.  That's up to a $4.00 saving over other brands being sold today. Check out the entire line of Duri products here!  Enjoy free shipping on orders of $35.00 or more!

Duri Polish Revel In Luxury Review and Contest!

durirevel

As many of you know I am a licensed manicurist and I am blessed to receive samples for review from some nail polish companies.  Over the years it has gotten more difficult to get them unless you are a "nail blogger" which I am not so my friends at Duri are one of the few companies that continue to send me their new nail polish collections.  Duri is one of these companies that I endorse as I love their innovative polish colors with every new collection. This is the latest collection from Duri called Revel In Luxury and it does not disappoint. Most brands of polish at this size bottle are up to $10.00 per bottle but Duri remains at $6.00 per bottle which is a great value. The collection consists of 12 amazing colors.  I only received 6 of the 12 so I can only speak on them at this time.  The others look just as amazing on the Duri Website so you can see them here! I received Au Moment, Oh My Stars, Paint The Town, Feeling Beautiful, Revel In Luxury and Chic Chick and I love them all.

Okay no judging the manicuring skills I just put the colors on so you could get an idea of what they actually look like on the nails.
