ReplyDeleteid like to know how i can keep my nail polish from staining my nails? email adress is nikkioliver27@yahoo.com facebook name is nikki mckinney
ReplyDeleteFirst off if you are NOT using a base coat will cause your nails to discolor. Polish has pigment in it (dark colors are the worst) and like anything else that has pigment it will stain the nailbed. If you are using a base coat try using another brand. Polish should be pitched after a year maximum. I know most people gasp when I tell them this but it starts to break down after 12 months time. If you are using old polish that would discolor the nailbed as well. The only other reason would be medical.

DeleteHow can i get my brittle nails stronger? They are always breaking
ReplyDeleteMany factors including your health, medication and other exposures can cause your nails to be brittle. If you are taking precautions to care for your nails (wearing rubber gloves when cleaning, avoiding cleaning chemicals, etc.) then it could just be your own body. I suggest you try my all time absolute favorite product to suggest is Cuccio Forte Nail strengthener which I sell. This product is a miracle in a bottle and will help to grow long strong and healthy nails. I state my reputation as a manicurist on this product and have been using it personally for years. I adore it. Cuccio Forte contains Horsetail Grass a product used in holistic medicine to build and strengthen bone. If you are interested in purchasing a bottle I have a special now for free shipping and a free gift with purchase - click here to order you will not be disappointed. http://www.roseythecouponcoach.com/2013/10/do-your-nails-split-peel-or-chip.html
DeleteHow do you stop peeling? Many of my manicures have been ruined by peeling! email is katieklein44@yahoo.com ty
ReplyDeleteAs I said previously there are many reasons your polish is peeling. If you are exposing your hands to water frequently or harsh cleaning chemicals this will do it as well. Too many coats of polish will do it and the brand of polish could be a factor too. Try a new brand of top coat, base coat and polish and see if that helps.
DeleteHow do I keep my nails from breaking off as soon as they get long?
ReplyDeleteMarie several factors can come into play when nails start to break off. Most times it's jamming them into things, I have two such catastrophes as we speak. The other suggestion would be to try my all time absolute favorite product Cuccio Forte Nail strengthener which I sell. This product is a miracle in a bottle and will help to grow long strong and healthy nails. I state my reputation as a manicurist on this product and have been using it personally for years. DeleteHow can I keep my polish from chipping so quickly? Even with topcoat, they still chip :(
ReplyDeleteNicole it depends on what you are using - that could be the issue. Since I don't know what brand of polish you are using I would suggest you try an entirely new brand top coat, color and base coat and see if that helps. Even if you are using a very good name brand polish it doesn't always work on everyone.
DeleteMy question when painting nails and you have those oops moment when you get on cuticles. What is best way to remove without messing up the other nails? Never fails I try to fix and mess others up! ugh! t.truex@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteTina don't try to remove the "oops" until your nails are completely dry. Of course as a professional I correct those little errors before my client leaves the chair and during the actually polishing but in your case it's best to wait. Once your nails have completely dried take an orangewood stick and wrap a tiny piece of cotton around it and dip that into remover. Carefully go around the areas that you have gotten polish on and you should be good to go.
DeleteDo you use ridge filler? Looking for something to create a smooth base for the color.
ReplyDeleteNancy I am very blessed to have nice nails and I do not require the use of a ridge filler, however, I do keep it handy for my clients who need a little extra help. I would recommend trying one that is easily available in a drug store or Sally Beauty supply. If all else fails contact me privately and I will order and ship to you.
DeleteNo matter what I do, my nails chip and break. I have been taking vitamins with no luck. Any suggestions??
ReplyDeleteJasmin do I have a product for you! My all time absolute favorite product to suggest is Cuccio Forte Nail strengthener which I sell. DeleteHow often is too often to use nail polish remover? Is on e a week bad for your nails?.........maryann181@msn.com
ReplyDeleteMaryAnn Demspey Coleman
Maryann polish remover is mostly "acetone" which is not great for your nails but it is necessary to remove the polish. Some contain other ingredients to help combat the dry affects of the acetone but I don't care for those. Oily ingredients can make polish not adhere to your nails. The nail must be completely free of any oil for polish to adhere. So in answering your question I wouldn't use acetone every day on my nails but once a week or once every two weeks to remove polish is fine.
DeleteI used to see a lot of metal nail files that have slowly started to be replaced by the foam like ones. Which one is better for your nails? I still find metal ones once in awhile, most of the time they are in manicure kits that are a little more pricey so I was not sure.
ReplyDeleteNEVER and I mean never use a metal file on your nails they rip them up. Use a good old fashion emery board. I'm not a fan of the glass files don't like them at all.
DeleteThank you for that information!
DeleteWhich is a good top coat to keep color from chipping?
ReplyDeleteThe best top coat I have found is Seche Vite it is my absolute favorite of all the brands on the market today. If you cannot find it you can always contact me and I will order and ship it to you.
DeleteWhat causes the yellow discoloration that happens when u paint your toe nails, and is there a way to prevent it from happening?
ReplyDeleteFirst off if you are NOT using a base coat that will cause your nails to discolor. Polish had pigment in it and like anything else that has pigment it will stain the nailbed. DeleteHow do I keep the nail polish from peeling off in one shot? I thought maybe it was because my nails were too smooth, but "roughing" them up doesn't seem to help.
ReplyDeleteJulia if your polish is "peeling" off then there is something going on. A few things come to mind. First it could be the polish, not all polishes are good for everyone. I cannot wear OPI, yes that shocks many but it just does not stay on my nails very long. DO NOT ROUGH UP YOUR NAILS, you will destroy them. My nails are very smooth and the polish stays on for the most part. Next it could be you are applying too many coats. Maximum of 5 or 6 coats at one time only! The third thing is it could be a medical issue. If you are taking medication that can affect your nails. Try changing your polish brand and see if that helps. Change the entire routine from base coat to polish and top coat.
DeleteI use many brands (OPI, Sally Hansen, Revlon...) and have always had an issue with peeling, even before I was on medication. I tried using a different brush tonight (a nice paint brush) to see if it helps any. I will definitely quit roughing them up though. Thanks for the help:@)
DeleteJulia I would like to make a suggestion that your try Cuccio Forte Nail Strengthener as your base coat. I sell this product and it's worth it's weight in gold. This may help to put down a good base for your polishes. My all time absolute favorite product to suggest is Cuccio Forte Nail strengthener which I sell. This product is a miracle in a bottle and will help to grow long strong and healthy nails. I state my reputation as a manicurist on this product and have been using it personally for years. DeleteOverall, my nails are quite strong and grow well. My issue is that, between aging and illness, I have ridges running from nail beds to tips. I don't want to weaken them with excessive use of a buffing block or cover them with finishes that would make it hard to check that my nail beds are healthy. Can you suggest some types of polish finishes that would make the ridging less noticeable? I consider myself past the age where anything extreme is suitable but I was wondering about some of the more muted, monotone magnetic effects.
ReplyDeleteThey do sell "ridge fillers" Pat that are available in most professional supply stores. I honestly do not know of any that are sold on to the general public. Do you have a Sally Beauty Supply in your area? Stop in and see if they have one. The gals there are usually very knowledgeable and helpful. Perhaps you can look at Walmart or a drug store, if all else fails contact me privately and I will order and ship it to you.
DeleteWhat kind of nail file do you prefer, glass or regular emery board?
ReplyDeleteYour basic emery board file is my favorite. I never did care for the glass one and the metal one will destroy your nails.
DeleteMy question would be what is your favorite top coat? Mine has always been Seche, but sometimes it can make my nail polish too thick and it'll fall off in a giant sheet. Any recommendations?
ReplyDeleteThe best top coat I have found is Seche Vite it is my absolute favorite of all the brands on the market today. However that being said Amanda it's not right for everyone. If you are putting it on too thick or too heavy it can cause your other polish to peel. You must never put more than 5 or 6 coats of polish on at one time. 6 is the max and not everyone's nails can handle that. Once you have your manicure done, midweek put on a thin coat of Seche. If that is still causing you an issue, you need to switch your topcoat. I also like "Out The Door" which is made by the same company that makes Seche. Hope this helps.
